We’re only 4 months away from cross season and whether you’re hammering off the line, coasting through turns or bunny hopping obstacles there’s one thing that should never enter your mind: “Is my bike going to be strong enough to hold up for the entire race?” With our all new CX700 Crankset it will never cross your mind, because its bomb proof. The idea behind the CX700 was to create a cross crank that is light enough to race, strong enough to jump and inexpensive enough to not worry about crashing. The arms are made from forged aluminum and the chainrings are CNC machined alloy. It weighs in at only 670 grams and you should be able to order it through your local bike shop for around $120 bucks. Once again Origin-8 has your back and not your wallet as we slide in at almost half the cost of the competition!

Brand new, a BB30 bottom bracket adapter that allows you to run a non-BB30 crank with a BB30 frame. With this adaptation system you reap all the benefits of having a BB30 bottom bracket without having to buy a super expensive crank. Most standard outboard/integrated crank and bottom bracket systems on the market today have a spindle O.D. (outside diameter) of 24mm. A BB30 bearing will not accommodate this, but with our new BB30 adapters you can run any GXP or HT2 spindle on a frame that is designed for the BB30 bearing system for a fraction of the cost. The adapter is complete with the C-clips, sealed cartridge bearings and cones for a fluid and finished look.

Yet another top 10 finish for Kretzschmar Steel team member James Esser on his Origin-8 Lactic Acid! James placed 5th in the CAT 2 Criterium Race this weekend at the Dana Point Grand Prix.

Here’s a look at our 2012 Sea Otter booth setup. It was great to see everyone who came out!

The Pro Pulsion Road pedal is the lightest and strongest road pedal we make. With heat treated chromoly axles, sealed bearings and an aluminum body this pedal weighs in at 285 grams per pair which is about 30 grams lighter than Shimano Ultegra pedals.

These pedals are compatible with the Look KEO cleat system with a 9 degree float and 50mm dimension from center of platform to outer crankarm. Heat treatment reinforces strength and integrity to ensure a safe, reliable axle that withstands extreme amounts of force. You can get this pedal through any neighborhood bike shop for around $60 dollars a pair.

With the rise of electronic shifting and the continued success of the Origin-8 Lactic Acid, something became very clear to us—we need to put them together! Thus the 2012 Lactic Acid Di2 was born.

This 12k weave carbon beauty is completely Di2 ready with grommet inserts and a battery mount. The Origin-8 Lactic Acid Di2 remains true to its race and performance roots with a BB30 bottom bracket shell and integrated tapered head tube. A 51cm frame weighs in at 1050 grams and is equipped with a 370 gram full carbon tapered fork.

Like peanut butter and jelly the 2012 Lactic Acid Di2 and Shimano Di2 make an excellent pair, with a perfect balance of unmatched precision and lightweight ride.

Origin-8 is pleased to announce that we will be attending our second Sea Otter Classic which will be held on April 19-22, 2012 in Monterey, CA. Last year was a huge success for us.
